This site is a rehosting of the classic Roblox Wiki from 2012, on a fresh MediaWiki instance. We have plans to create new documentation and articles, using the existing platform as a base. We are still planning how and when exactly, but generally we would like to do the following:
* New branding
* New guides and resources
* Game design and technical writeups on classic places and models to teach people how they work and are designed
* Info on the current state of old Roblox, and guides on getting it set up so you can start developing games (with Novetus)
* Redesigned home pages to be more relevant (replace quick links to defunct site stuff with engine documentation)
* High quality screenshots and video recordings
* Make the website more mobile friendly
* Documenting the undocumented
* Probably more!
This project is being led by [https://realja.me realjame] with a few other people serving as co-editors, you can find everyone [[Special:ListUsers/editor|here]]. We hope this site will be a crucial resource to help people make new games for classic Roblox, or at the very least learn about Roblox's history. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome to the Roblox Wiki

Roblox is a free user-generated gaming site that makes players the architects of their own 3D worlds. Players spend over 20 million hours playing games and building in their own personal virtual worlds. Roblox is ranked #1 in the US for total engagement time within the 8-14 year old segment, and is rapidly growing in popularity amongst players aged 15+. You are given a variety of objects, a scripting language and a website to host your games for other people to play. With your free account, you get a character and a place. You can customize your place and character however you want, and visit anyone else's place as well.

This help center is here to help you learn how to play Roblox, how to build using the Roblox Studio, and how to script using the Lua language.

The Roblox wiki encompasses 1,697 articles and 1,217 files, all created by Roblox's friendly wiki writers and editors. It has been edited 43,331 times.

About this new project

This site is a rehosting of the classic Roblox Wiki from 2012, on a fresh MediaWiki instance. We have plans to create new documentation and articles, using the existing platform as a base. We are still planning how and when exactly, but generally we would like to do the following:

  • New branding
  • New guides and resources
  • Game design and technical writeups on classic places and models to teach people how they work and are designed
  • Info on the current state of old Roblox, and guides on getting it set up so you can start developing games (with Novetus)
  • Redesigned home pages to be more relevant (replace quick links to defunct site stuff with engine documentation)
  • High quality screenshots and video recordings
  • Make the website more mobile friendly
  • Documenting the undocumented
  • Probably more!

This project is being led by realjame with a few other people serving as co-editors, you can find everyone here. We hope this site will be a crucial resource to help people make new games for classic Roblox, or at the very least learn about Roblox's history. Thanks for visiting!
