Studio/Standard Studio View

From Legacy Roblox Wiki

The Standard Studio View is a way of arranging the windows inside of Roblox Studio to make it easier to work with. Many scripters and builders use the Standard view. The Default view is not the same thing. The tutorials on the Roblox Wiki assume that you have the Standard View setup.

The View from New

When you first install Roblox, you're given the default view. It looks something like the second picture on the right.

The default view, notice how it's different from the Standard View

This is missing a few important things if you want to start scripting, so let's get those set up.

Setting up the Standard

It's actually really easy to get to the Standard.

Step 1: The Output

Way at the top of the window, click on View.

This will bring up a dropdown menu of different things. Click on Output.

Now the Output window should appear at the bottom of the 3D view. It will make it a little smaller, but it's very useful when figuring out why a script isn't working.

Step 2: The Command Bar

Same as before, click on View

This time, hover the mouse over Toolbars, and click on Command.

This will place a Command toolbar somewhere around the screen. Click and hold on the 4 little dots on the left side of the toolbar, and drag it right down underneath the Output window. If you did it right, it'll snap to the bottom of the screen, and you can let it go there. There you go, you have the Standard Setup! |}
